Apologies and Updates

I owe a few apologies.

If I owe anybody an email or a phone call, I ask that you please bare with me, I will get to you all as soon as possible.  I’m trying to complete my ‘to do’ list today, so I should be on top of everything by the end of today Smile

On Tuesday, our beautiful fur baby Jack Jnr. had the most horrendous freak accident.  Our garden is on a slope, and after particularly heavy rains, a piece of metal was pushed up out of the ground. Jack ran into it and literally skinned himself alive The whole of his left side ... Sad smile Thankfully, it didn't cut a main artery, but several smaller ones. Sadly though, the way he was sheered, was against the flow of blood, so there was a chance that some of the skin would die.

On Friday, Jack deteriorated very quickly, and after a planned check up visit with our Vet, Jack had to be referred to a Skin Specialist Surgeon, as the bruising had started to come out and some of his skin was dying – he was in a very distressed state.  We had to drive him to Frodsham which is miles away from home Sad smile, and leave him in the capable hands of the Surgeon.  He was extremely poorly and the journey was very traumatic for Jack.

The Surgeon, Mr Williams has updated us regularly, and although Jack is still extremely poorly, he doesn’t think the operation that he needs, will be as big as initially thought.  At the moment, they are keeping him pain-free and comfortable, and has assured me that he is receiving lots of cuddles and attention.

Jack struck a metal corner edging for a greenhouse that was removed by the previous owners, but instead of removing the metal corner edgings, they folded over the top into the ground. After manically digging up the area, we found that there were four of these metal edgings Sad smile

This has been a truly nightmare period for us.  Jack is a pampered much-loved pet, and we are absolutely distraught by the whole incident.  My son is currently taking his A Levels, and was present when the accident happened.  He’s beating himself up about it with all the ‘what ifs’ and ‘if only’s’ .. as are Stewart and I.

So please, if you believe, offer some prayers for my beautiful fur baby, and if you don’t believe, then please send some healing thoughts for him.

Business goes on ….

More so because I have huge massive vets fees and Surgeon fees to pay … so … onwards and upwards ..

  7. I hadn't realised how he had hurt himself, how awful for all of you but I am so happy that he is bouncing back so nicely and able to go out in his garden again.
