In colours TOGETHER

It's out with the old....and in with the NEW....NEW Stampin' Up! In Colours.  With each NEW Stampin' Up! Catalogue comes 5 NEW Stampin' Up! In Colours.  ‘In Colours’ are the NEW and trendy colours that are available for two years!

These are the NEW 2014-2016 In Colours.  They are :-

  • Blackberry Bliss
  • Hello Honey
  • Lost Lagoon
  • Mossy Meadow
  • Tangelo Twist

Would you like to see how they compare to our core colours?

blackberry bliss

Here is the new Blackberry Bliss (on top) and it's close purple companions.

Hello honey

Hello Honey!!  A fun new yellow that is a bit darker than our Crushed Curry.

Lost Lagoon

You won't get lost with the NEW Lost Lagoon!  A deep, rich blue with a bit of grey undertones.  A great addition to our blue lineup.

Mossy Meadow

The NEW Mossy Meadow is a deep, dark green that is so pretty.  It just seems to fill a spot we needed in our greens.

Tangelo Twist

Bright and Sassy describes the NEW Tangelo Twist In Color.  You can't help but smile when you pull out this fun colour.

Adding Flair to Project Life, Cards and Scrapbook pages !

Do you remember these little epoxy domes from years ago ?

Epoxy domes

Well, they are now called Flair Buttons … and if you have purchased the Stampin’ Up! Project Life Everyday Accessories Pack (£8.95), then included in your pack, will be a couple of flair buttons.

Accessory Pack

I love them, but wanted more Sad smile  So I designed my own Smile YAY !

I bought the epoxy domes from Fleabay (I will send you the link for the seller if you want it), and then I designed my own ‘buttons’ using MDS.

Three sample buttons

The above is just a sample of the TWO sheets of ‘flair buttons’ that I have designed.  Each sheet contains 30 flair buttons, so you will receive 60 flair buttons in total.  They contain lots of different ‘words’, ‘travel images’ ‘seaside images’ ‘holiday images/words’ etc.  These buttons can be used to add detail to not only Project Life pages, but also cards, scrapbook pages, journals, ATC’s etc. etc., the list is endless !

I am selling TWO pages of Flair Buttons (images only) for £5, and you will receive the documents by email.
You will then need to print off each sheet onto cardstock, punch them out with a 1” circle punch, add your epoxy dome, and Bobs your Uncle – done !

Incidentally, the cheapest pack of 12 Flair Buttons I have found on Etsy is £3.62, and the American Crafts Flair Buttons are £3.99 for 6 Surprised smile  …. wow … you will be receiving 60 Flair Buttons (images) for £5 – bargain !

To purchase your Flair Buttons, please click on the Paypal ‘buy now’ button below.  You can still purchase the buttons even if you don’t have a Paypal account.  You will be asked for your debit/credit card details.  I will receive an email, and then forward you your documents.  If you want the images sending to another email address, then please let me know in the ‘messages’ section.

If you have any questions, then please contact me on carole.bryson@gmail.com or call/text me on 07747 465186

Blendabilities are [nearly] in da house !

Blendabilities are Stampin’ Up(s)! own Alcohol Markers.  They will be available to customers on the 1st July.  The first lot of colours that will be available to purchase are :-
·  Cherry Cobbler (Item No.130995)
·  Coastal Cabana (item No.131000)
·  Daffodil Delight (item No.130998)
·  Old Olive (item No.130999)
·  Pumpkin Pie (item No.130997)
·  Rich Razzleberry (item No.131003)
·  Skin Tone Assortment (item No.129370)

The markers are packed in sets of THREE (light, medium, dark) for £10.95 per set.
In addition, the following accessories will also be available.
·  Memento Black Ink Pad (item No.132708) - £5.50
·  Memento Black Ink Refill (item No.133456) - £4.50
·  Colour Lifter (Item No.129369) - £4.50
So, I can hear you all cry "Why Memento Ink" ? Because ... it’s a Dye Ink and is not activated by alcohol based products.
Confused about which black ink to use? – Sandi McIver created a PDF – WHICH BLACK INK SHOULD I USE- Download PDF

Here are some of my samples that I have made using the Blendabilities.  I have stamped and coloured two images of each starting with the lighter shade of marker going into the darker shade.  Then on the other image, I have started with the darker marker, going down to the lighter shade.  Can you tell which is which ?

My personal opinion is that they are a lot better than Promarkers, but not quite as good as Copics .. and I only say that because Copics are refillable, and ours aren't. The other bonus to the Stampin Up alcohol markers, is that ours are available in sets of 3 (and are cheaper, but money aside ...) and they have a dark shade, medium shade and a light shade - they are all hues of each other - and it therefore saves you shed loads of time, matching them up to blend.

What's the Colour Lifter Carole ?

I absolutely love the colour lifter ! If you go 'over the edges' you can literally 'lift' the colour back into the image. It's not a rubber as such as it won't completely remove the ink, but it 'lifts and shifts' it !
For the money, the Stampin' Up! Alcohol Markers are not far off the quality of Copics, but Copics just have that 'bit more' if you know what I mean. However, I don't have Copic cash, and ours are an amazing alternative !
Incidentally, the remaining 6 colour assortments will be available to customers on the 1st August.
To pre-order yours so that you will be one of the first to receive them, please contact me on carole.bryson@gmail.com or call/text me on 07747 465186.  Please also contact me on these details to order your NEW catalogue if you haven't already !
Don't forget to pop back for more exciting sneaky peaks !
Don't forget No 2.   You only have 4 more days to grab those retiring products from my online shop HERE

Technique NOT Tuesday .. and Note …

So, its NOT Tuesday, which means … it must be another Technique NOT Tuesday day !!! YAY !!!

NOTE:  These are NOT ‘my’ ideas … techniques have been around since Cave Men times, and I thought that I had better confirm that I WAS NOT, and NEVER WILL be .. a caveman !

Why re-invent the wheel – huh ?

So .. not all the photographs are mine, and NOT ONE of the techniques are mine – they belong to the cavemen.  If I can remember who I snagged a photograph from, then I will always give credit.  However .. a lot of these techniques were written up donkeys years ago , and  I won’t remember everybody’s names to put to photographs, and to be perfectly honest – I don’t have the memory to remember (previous TIA’s a long, long time ago put paid to my memory).

So … today’s technique is … my trademark …

The Burnt Edge Effect

clip_image002

To finish this layout, I distressed all the edges using a distressing tool (or pair of scissors ‘scraped’ along the edges of the layout), and then I ‘burn’ the edges.

Instructions to ‘burn’ edges

To ‘burn’ edges, these are the steps that I take :-

1) Distress the edges using either a distressing tool or a pair of scissors ‘scraped’ around the edges of your project.

2) Using the lightest brown ink (crumb cake) and a sponge/dauber, rub over the edges using a circular motion, and going into the page about 1 inch.

3) Then using a darker brown ink (soft suede), repeat the process, but only dauber the ink into the page about ½” around the edges.

4) Using a darker brown ink (early espresso) repeat the process, but only dauber the ink into the page approx ¼” around the edges/

5) Finally, run a black inkpad around the edges – DO NOT DAUBER – literally using the ink pad, run the pad around the edges.

Voila !

This IS my photograph incidentally Smile

Wanna be in my Gang ?

When I joined Stampin Up! three years ago, I never expected my life to change the way it has.

I knew that the products were absolutely amazing, I knew the Career Plan and rewards would be extremely generous too (which they are), but I seriously underestimated the best thing about Stampin Up! which is the people you meet.

I have met so many lovely people that I would not have met without joining Stampin Up! and I am so grateful to them all.  I have made life long friends who started off as customers, and I have made life long friends with people who never knew me, but believed in me, and joined my team.

‘Our’ team is The Hearts, and we are spread across the whole of the UK – from Scotland in the North, Wales, and down South, and we are a mixed bunch of crafty gals who are passionate about Stampin Up!  We have ‘meet ups’ both in real-life and online, and we share our skills and knowledge freely and happily.  Our ethos is to enjoy what do, share what we love … and above all else, have fun !

You will receive 20% commission on all your orders and purchases, and if you place a £150 order within your first 45 days, then you will receive an additional 10% discount !

JACK JUNIOR UPDATE:

Thank you to everyone who has called, messaged or emailed me regarding our fur baby Jack Jnr.   Your kindness, healing thoughts and prayers have helped my family and I to get through the most awful nightmare.

Jack is now home, and is continuing to improve on a daily basis.

I won’t post the photographs of his injury as they are gruesome, but I will leave you with a photograph of Jack taken last night.   Thanks again for all your continued love and concern xxxx

Apologies and Updates

I owe a few apologies.

If I owe anybody an email or a phone call, I ask that you please bare with me, I will get to you all as soon as possible.  I’m trying to complete my ‘to do’ list today, so I should be on top of everything by the end of today Smile

On Tuesday, our beautiful fur baby Jack Jnr. had the most horrendous freak accident.  Our garden is on a slope, and after particularly heavy rains, a piece of metal was pushed up out of the ground. Jack ran into it and literally skinned himself alive The whole of his left side ... Sad smile Thankfully, it didn't cut a main artery, but several smaller ones. Sadly though, the way he was sheered, was against the flow of blood, so there was a chance that some of the skin would die.

On Friday, Jack deteriorated very quickly, and after a planned check up visit with our Vet, Jack had to be referred to a Skin Specialist Surgeon, as the bruising had started to come out and some of his skin was dying – he was in a very distressed state.  We had to drive him to Frodsham which is miles away from home Sad smile, and leave him in the capable hands of the Surgeon.  He was extremely poorly and the journey was very traumatic for Jack.

The Surgeon, Mr Williams has updated us regularly, and although Jack is still extremely poorly, he doesn’t think the operation that he needs, will be as big as initially thought.  At the moment, they are keeping him pain-free and comfortable, and has assured me that he is receiving lots of cuddles and attention.

Jack struck a metal corner edging for a greenhouse that was removed by the previous owners, but instead of removing the metal corner edgings, they folded over the top into the ground. After manically digging up the area, we found that there were four of these metal edgings Sad smile

This has been a truly nightmare period for us.  Jack is a pampered much-loved pet, and we are absolutely distraught by the whole incident.  My son is currently taking his A Levels, and was present when the accident happened.  He’s beating himself up about it with all the ‘what ifs’ and ‘if only’s’ .. as are Stewart and I.

So please, if you believe, offer some prayers for my beautiful fur baby, and if you don’t believe, then please send some healing thoughts for him.

Business goes on ….

More so because I have huge massive vets fees and Surgeon fees to pay … so … onwards and upwards ..

Technique Tuesday, but it’s Sunday !

I couldn’t think of anything to rhyme with Technique that was relevant to a Sunday, so I promise I haven’t gone mad !
A quick thank you to everyone who attended my Rochdale Crop yesterday.  Despite the awful weather, it was a hilarious day full of fun and inspiration, and I even managed to get some work done Surprised smile yay!
Anyway, upwards and onwards with this technique – it’s the Baby Wipe Technique.  As watercolouring is HUGE in all genres of industry at the moment, this technique will help you achieve the watercolour effect without too much effort.
    BABY WIPE TECHNIQUE

    Supplies Needed
    • Plate or Foam Tray
    • Baby Wipes
    • 2/3 different coloured Reinkers (£2.75 each)
    • Cardstock
    • Bold rubber/acrylic stamp
Step1: Fold your baby wipe and lay it on a paper plate or foam tray.
Step 2: Place drops of reinkers randomly onto the baby wipe to form your “stamp pad”.
    clip_image002
Step 3: Ink up a bold stamp on your make-shift pad
    clip_image004
Step 4: Stamp the image onto your piece of card stock.
Step 5: Once image has dried, then you can use it to make up a project.
Note: Another method is to place drops of reinkers on the fold of a baby wipe and pull down your cardstock for a multicoloured stripe effect.
    clip_image005
You could also use this technique direct onto a layout using a large background stamp, or use as a mat.
For those who prefer visual instructions, the following You Tube video will help you.

What a Brown Day its been today ….

Oh yes … very brown indeed !
    UPS 1
As you can see, I was paid a visit from our lovely Mr Brown – fondly called by all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator !  I know you can’t see inside, but I just wanted to build up the tension !  These boxes are full of NEW products from the NEW catalogue that is due to launch on the 1st July.
However, because I care for you all deeply, and just know that you’re twitching to see some things, I thought I’d start with this.  This idea is not mine, but from Deb Valder (see You Tube video).
    Block box 1
This is a Pop Up Block card, that literally, like the pop-up boxes previously, folds down, so that you can fit it in an envelope.
This is the block, laying flat.
    Block box 1 folded down
and this is some of the finer details :-
    Block box 1 flower 2Block box 1 flower 3
    Block box 1 flower 1
The flower top left, has been made using the Petite Petals punch using one of the NEW In colours, Hello Honey.  The leaves have been made using the bird punch in another NEW In Colour, Moss Green.
The top right flower was made using the ‘wings’ from the bird punch, and the smaller ones, made using the Itty Bitty punches.
The third flower on the bottom, was made using 5 layers of the pansy punch in a third NEW In Colour, Blackberry Bliss.  This is definitely my most favourite of the new In colours.  The centre was made using a 1” strip of Hello Honey, folded in half, and then ‘snipped’ with the fringe scissors.  This strip was then rolled and adhered into the centre of the flower.
Can you spot any NEW papers ????
    What do you think ?
If you like it, then the tutorial for this Pop Up Block card is available for FREE with any order  from now until the end of June  !
To help you spend your cash, how about some MASSIVE savings  :-
