Mini Album Instructions/New Products

Evening everyone!   As promised from a Facebook post that I made, below are the instructions for these cute little Mini Albums.  They can be used for passport sized photographs, left over Project Life photographs/cards etc., or maybe an album full of quotes - the choice is yours.

They also don't use a lot of products.  A sheet and a half of A4 cardstock, and two different scrapbook papers.  You can of course add more embellishments than I have, as I just wanted to show you the basic album.

I have used Crumb Cake A4 cardstock, and FREE papers from the Sale-a-Bration leaflet.  Remember, if you spend £45 you get to choose one free product from the brochure.  If you spend £90 you get to select two free products!  You will also receive FREE postage as a thank you from me!

and then another album as I was on a roll!

INSTRUCTIONS
First you will need to score your cardstock (8.5 x 11) at 3, 6 and 9 inches with the cardstock horizontally positioned (long side) in the scoring board.
Next, trim the cardstock, cutting down over the score lines, at 2 3/4". You will get three strips from 1 piece of cardstock. Repeat this if you want to add more pages.

Adhering the pages together is actually very easy to do. First, fold your score lines alternately. There will be one end that is shorter than the rest. (marked with the red arrows). The first short end will be adhered behind the regular end (marked with blue arrow).  On the next strip the shorter end will be adhered on top of the regular edge.

When you are finished adhering the strips together, snip off the shot end that is left over as well as a full 3 inch portion if needed, depending on how many strips you use. I'll point out below what the ends should look like when you adhere it to the cover. Think about the fact that you want everything to look like a page on the inside.
Cover
Score a strip of  cardstock to 2 3/4" x 11" and score at 3" and 3 1/2".
Fold at the 3 1/2" line and inch the cardstock along to the left hand edge of the scoring board and score again on the next 3" and 3 1/2", like shown below.
Then score the last end section in half at 2”. (adhere this to itself to create a strong front flap.)
Here is what your cover will look like when it's all scored:-

Take a close look at the photograph above of the open album. The first and last pages are adhered to the insides of the cover, and the flap for the cover, is on the right side. Because I used the same width they come together seamlessly. There is a little gap that happens with the middle pages but it works. Another option is to not adhere the right hand panel to the inside cover and it will then just pull out accordion style.
I decorated all the covers using papers that were 1/8” smaller than the actual page, and so that it left a small border.
You can use ribbon, velcro dots or small magnets to secure the closure.  However, if these are being made for somebody’s handbag then they tend to ruin or really demagnetise the magnetic strip on credit cards. Not good!
 Have fun!
