Tutorial Time & Reminders !

I am always being asked (thank you for asking), how to do certain techniques.  It made me think that it's a long time since I've given you any 'usable' freebies, and also, that there are lots of new stampers who don't know where to start, so I am repeating my Technique Series - yay !

At the bottom of the post, I will leave you a link to a You Tube video, just in case you are a visual learner, and prefer to 'see' it rather than 'read it'.  Just to let you know that they aren't my videos (why repeat what is already there) ? besides which, I have them all in document format, so if there is a technique that you are looking for, then please email me, and I'll check if I have it or not.

Anyway, on to today's technique, and back to basics !

3D Stamping

Create a 3D look by over stamping your solid image with a slightly darker ink.

Supplies

  • Stamps
  • Cardstock
  • White Pigment Ink (or other bright white ink)
  • Stamp-a-ma-jig (or other stamp positioner)
  • Dye Ink to match cardstock used

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

S Stamp your image using white pigment ink onto coloured cardstock.

S Step 2

Let the pigment/craft ink dry, or heat set.

Step 3

Line your positioning sheet up with the corner of your Stamp-a-ma-jig (SAMJ).

Ink the image you just used with dye ink

Line it up with your SAMJ and stamp image on your positioning sheet.

Step 4

Place the positioning sheet over the white stamped image, slightly off-center from the white image.   If you don’t have a positioning sheet or SAMJ, then you will need to do this step by using your ‘eye’

Place the SAMJ along the imaging sheet.

Step 5

Remove positioning sheet.

Line stamp up with the SAMJ and stamp image over the white image with dye ink.

Step 6

Your stamped image should now give you the illusion of being 3D embossed.

Step 7

Finish your project.
