Faux Stitching & Cal's Crazy Christmas !

I designed the following card and layout for the UKScrappers Technique Thursday.  To see the technique forum on UKS, make your way HERE - you will find shed loads of free tutorials that I have put together, using lots of different techniques for you to experiment with.

This weeks technique was faux stitching, and I am sure we all do ours in different ways. :)  As UKS is not a Stampin Up dedicated forum, I have used different products for this project :)  ... just in case you were wondering ! :)

Ingredients
4 different patterned papers (one large flower design, one smaller flower design, one spotted paper and one plain coloured paper in a co-ordinating colour)
Alphabet of your choice (I used my own printed 'Adornit' type alphabet)
Rhinestones or Pearls
White signo pen
Paper piercer

Instructions for the layout

Step 1) Cut the large flower strip 1 3/4" x 9" and cut out a tail at the bottom
Step 2) Cut the spotty paper strip 2" x 6" and cut a tail at the bottom
Step 3) Cut the blue plain paper 3/4" x 5 3/4" and cut an angle (left to right) at the bottom
Step 4) Cut the photo mat 4 3/4" x 6" and place a photograph measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" to the bottom right hand corner of the mat.
Step 5) Adhere the patterned papers as shown in my sample.
Step 6) Adhere the title to the top left hand corner of the photograph and the bottom right hand corner of the photograph
Step 7) Cut out one large and two smaller flowers from the patterned paper, and adhere to the layout using foam pads where indicated.  Cut out and adhere half of a large flower to the bottom right hand corner of the background cardstock.
Step 8) Add pearls or rhinestones to the centre to add a bit of 'glam'.
Step 9) Using a ruler, draw a light pencil line around the top left hand corner 'larger flower' strip, and then do the same for the photograph map, but draw a light pencil line around the bottom right hand corner.
Step 10) Using a paper piercer, poke holes along the pencil lines at regular intervals.  Using a white signo ball pen, join up the pierced holes.   Gently rub out the pencil lines.
Step 11) To finish, I distressed the edges of the layout.

You're finished :)
