It's Launch Day!

... of the NEW 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue that is!

You can see the catalogue in all of it's glory on the right hand side of my blog.  Just click on the picture, and it will take you directly to the pdf.

REMEMBER - when a new catalogue launches it usually means some products will temporarily sell out very quickly.  Sometimes it can be days or weeks before they're back in stock, so order as soon as you can or call me today and you won't be disappointed.

MY TOP FIVE PRODUCTS (which I think will sell out very quickly)

1.  The Planner Kit - Page 12
2.  Colourful Seasons Bundle - Page 149
3. Daisy Bundle - Page 126
4. Tabs for Everything Bundle - Page 43
5. In Colour Inkpads/Card etc. - Page 184

NEW IN-COLOURS
These beauties are the range of new in-colours for this year.  They work amazingly together, and they work fantastic combined with other colours families.  Over the next few days, I'll be able to show you the different colour combinations and how they work with each other ... Aren't they beautiful?!?! This is definitely my most favourite launch of in-colours EVER!

PRODUCTS

I've shown you a sneaky peak of the wonderful Daisy Bundle - well this is the whole bundle.  The stamp set and punch are sold as a bundle, and the papers, card, ribbons, gems are sold individually.  With a discount for buying a bundle, I think this is amazing value.

This will be the first card class that I will be advertising, and it will also be sold as a 'Class to Go' too.  I absolutely love this bundle, and my teamie Julie (Ribbon Hoarder blog) and I had a play the other week and came up with the following ... I hope you enjoy our samples.

It really is an amazing set, that is so adaptable and can be used on lots of different projects.  A little tip though ... make sure you have one leaf of the daisy pointing down when you stamp and then punch them - it makes life a lot easier!

As you will see from the catalogue, there are masses of new products - have you seen the embossing paste yet?!  There's tons of new card (A4 and 12x12), the fantastic new Planner (oh my days, its even more beautiful in real life), new ribbons, new embellishments .. new everything!

Adding Flair to Project Life, Cards and Scrapbook pages !

Do you remember these little epoxy domes from years ago ?

Epoxy domes

Well, they are now called Flair Buttons … and if you have purchased the Stampin’ Up! Project Life Everyday Accessories Pack (£8.95), then included in your pack, will be a couple of flair buttons.

Accessory Pack

I love them, but wanted more Sad smile  So I designed my own Smile YAY !

I bought the epoxy domes from Fleabay (I will send you the link for the seller if you want it), and then I designed my own ‘buttons’ using MDS.

Three sample buttons

The above is just a sample of the TWO sheets of ‘flair buttons’ that I have designed.  Each sheet contains 30 flair buttons, so you will receive 60 flair buttons in total.  They contain lots of different ‘words’, ‘travel images’ ‘seaside images’ ‘holiday images/words’ etc.  These buttons can be used to add detail to not only Project Life pages, but also cards, scrapbook pages, journals, ATC’s etc. etc., the list is endless !

I am selling TWO pages of Flair Buttons (images only) for £5, and you will receive the documents by email.
You will then need to print off each sheet onto cardstock, punch them out with a 1” circle punch, add your epoxy dome, and Bobs your Uncle – done !

Incidentally, the cheapest pack of 12 Flair Buttons I have found on Etsy is £3.62, and the American Crafts Flair Buttons are £3.99 for 6 Surprised smile  …. wow … you will be receiving 60 Flair Buttons (images) for £5 – bargain !

To purchase your Flair Buttons, please click on the Paypal ‘buy now’ button below.  You can still purchase the buttons even if you don’t have a Paypal account.  You will be asked for your debit/credit card details.  I will receive an email, and then forward you your documents.  If you want the images sending to another email address, then please let me know in the ‘messages’ section.

If you have any questions, then please contact me on carole.bryson@gmail.com or call/text me on 07747 465186

Autumn ….. I thought it would ..

…… be a break from Christmas !!!!!!!

But its NOT !!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha …. just want to try and fool some of my anti-Christmas-at-the-moment friends – you know who you are girls ahem Denize, Jackie G & Co !!!

acetate layout 1

This layout was made using the flocked acetate sheet from the beautiful Candlelight Christmas designer series paper.  The paper is available in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue from Stampin Up! which is launching this weekend ! In this set you will receive a set of 12 double sided papers, 2 of which are flocked acetate – the quality is undeniable, believe me !

Instructions

1.  Stamp and die-cut three ornaments from the Ornament Keepsake bundle using real red and gumball green inkpads.

2. Stamp and cut out the large label from the Everything Eleanor stamp set using real red.

3. Cut three strips of paper from the Candlelight Christmas designer papers. Make the varying lengths and widths.

4. Punch out a gumball green label with the designer label punch.  Also cut out another label, but push the short end  back into the punch, and punch a { sign.

5. Adhere your layers as shown in my layout.  I added some real red grosgrain ribbon.  To do this, I put on some red sticky strip, and pleated the ribbon in the ‘normal’ way, and then crossing and twisting it over.  To ensure the ribbon laid flat, I put glue dots under the folds.

6. Cut some thin strips of very vanilla cardstock, and add your journalling.

7. To adhere the stamped and cut out baubles, I threaded a darning needle with bakers twine.  I wrapped the twine around the top of the bauble, and then poked the needle through the acetate.  I brought the twin down the back of the page following the same line of twine at the front, and then taped down the end at the back of the bauble so that the twine on the back didn’t show.

8.  Adhere the { sign and the green decorate label as shown.

9. Add a real red grosgrain bow, your title using whatever medium you prefer -  and voila !

If you would like to place an order for any of the products used in this layout, please contact me on carole.bryson@gmail.com or call me on 01706 351299

Customer Appreciation … Prizes !

What a busy time it has been lately at the Hearts Headquarters.  My house has looked like Alton Towers due to having repair work on the chimney and a new roof.

The Project Manager decided that he wanted to join me in our bedroom Surprised smile, and somehow slipped and came through the bedroom ceiling !  Thankfully, there wasn’t too much damage done, but it delayed all the works until the ceiling was re-plastered.  I can now report that it looks like new again, and that my bedroom has been re-decorated for free – yay !  The scaffolding has thankfully been removed, and I can now work on the garden … I know, it DOES need it !

On Thursday, I had four different sets of workmen in the house.  Two decorators doing said bedroom, one plumber checking that the gas out-flow (or whatever it is called) hadn’t been damaged, and checking all the other gas appliances.  One door person putting on a new back door (complicated by having a complicated alarm system that had ‘things’ screwed into the wooden door that couldn’t be transferred into a UPVC door), and lastly, a  selection of scaffolders removing Alton Towers from the house structure !  It was mad I tell you !

Anyway …. on to more relaxing things ………

This amazing layout was made by one of my customers, Ruth Bolton.  She has kindly shared the instructions for this layout, and they are to be found below.

clip_image002

If you are a customer of mine, then please email me with any projects that you have made – you DO NOT need to include instructions.  Once a month, I will randomly select a project, and I will not only put it on my blog to share with my readers, but you will also earn a £10 gift voucher to spend on anything that you like from the current catalogue/s.  I’d call that a ‘win-win’ situation !  So please, email me at carole.bryson@gmail.com with your amazing Stampin Up! projects !!

Instructions - (it may help to keep referring to the above picture)

Resources needed:

  • *  1x photo 6” x 4” b&w
  • *  1x cream card stock
  • *  1x roses and umbrella paper
  • *  1x yellow and white paper (with brown line and flower border)
  • · 1x yellow patterned paper
  • · 12” blue ribbon
  • · Stamping up basic grey ink pad
  • · Trimmer
  • · Craft knife
  • · Scissors
  • · Glue
  • · Foam pads

1. Cut out all the flower and brown line border from the yellow paper, so you’re left with a long strip with only yellow showing between the brown lines. Now cut the right hand side flower group away so you should now have the boarder, but in 2 pieces. Ink edges of both pieces. Put to one side

2. cut the roses and umbrella paper in half 6” x 12” MAKE SURE YOU DO IT LENGTH WAYS as you will need to use the pocket watches on the reverse side, put this piece to one side safe you don’t want to cut into this piece yet.

3. The piece you are left with you are going to cut down 6” x 9”, ink the edges and stick on to your cream card stock 2” in from left side and 1 ½ “ from the top. Once this is stuck down you can now stick down the brown lined part of the boarder you cut out before making sure you butt the flower edges to top corner of the card its important you get this piece as straight as u can.

4. Now cut a piece from the yellow and white paper you have left 4” x 8” also cut a one 1” x 8” but use reverse side for this one. Ink edges attach the yellow and white (4” x 8”) to your Layout 3” up from bottom and 2 ½” in from left side. Attach the yellow strip on to this one 4” up from bottom and 1” in from right.

5. Position and attach your photo at a slight angel use the flower part of the boarder you haven’t used yet as a guide so you will know that it will slightly overlap you photo when you attach it later.

6. Attach foam pads to the back of the flower part of the boarder, we are now going to carefully line this up with the boarder already attached, it is important you take your time with this to make sure it matches correctly.

7. Now with the other piece of 12”x6” cut out the pocket watches being careful not to cut in to the other feather swirls as you will also cut some of these out. Once the watches are cut out attach to your layout with foam pads using my picture to help with positioning also use my picture to help u choose what other swirls and flowers u may want to use as u can see I used quite a few including some of the small pink roses from the roses and umbrella paper. What you cut out and use is up to you it’s your layout, you may want to use more or less than me. Some you will stick flat with others layered on top using foam pads. You also will need to position and attach the blue ribbon.

8. Give your layout a title, I looked for quotes to do with love and time to fit with the photo and the pocket watches.

Isn’t this layout amazing ?!!  Don’t forget -  if you are a customer of mine, and you have a project that you have made using Stampin UP! products, then email me on carole.bryson@gmail.com with your project, and you could be in with a chance of earning a £10 gift voucher !

Don’t forget – if you spend £60 on a single order this month, then you will receive the beautiful Reason to Smile stamp set for FREE !

I have done a little scrapping ….

Stewart was feeling a lot better today, so I decided that I’d get a little bit of scrapping done ….

23 June 2

The first layout, “My most favourite place in the World”, shows the Chicken Shack on Port Grimaud beach in the South of France – it truly is the most amazing place, that serves amazing food, amazing cocktails and looks directly out at St Tropez Bay.  Its heaven on earth !

Instructions

I’ve used a 12x12 Crumb Cake cardstock base.

1)  The first thing I made were the tags on the top right of the page.  They were made by cutting out 1 -  2”x4” and 1 -  2”x 3” mats from Island Indigo card.  I then cut out two different pieces of designer paper from Twitterpated measuring 1 3/4” x 3 3/4” and 1 3/4” x 2 3/4” which I then layered onto the tags, and cut out the bottom ‘tails’.  I then punched out two circles of designer paper using the 1 3/8” punch.  I then punched out another 2 circles in real red cardstock using the 1 3/4” punch.  I adhered the paper onto the card, and then cut the circles in half.   I adhered the long mats onto the layout first, and then adhered the half circles over the top.

2)  Next I cut out a strip of real red cardstock measuring 2” x 12”, and a strip of designer paper measuring 1 3/4” x 11 3/4” which I adhered onto the red cardstock.  Put this strip aside.

3)  The next thing I made was the large HALF of a circle.   I lay a dinner plate on top of a piece of Indigo Island cardstock and drew around it in pencil.  Remember, you don’t need to draw the whole circle, because you will only be using half of it !   Next, I punched out 7 scalloped circles in real red cardstock using the  1/14”  scallop circle punch.  This isn’t available in the UK catalogue now, so you can either use another brand of punch, or a spellbinder die.   I then cut the scallops into half, and adhered around the edge of the half circle.  I then adhered this to the layout, and adhered the long strip over the bottom edge of the half circle. OR – you can use the ‘regular’ size scallop punch, but just have fewer circles Smile

4)  Next I made three more ‘tailed tags’. Again, I used Island Indigo for the bottom layer – for these, I used different sizes of card and patterned paper, and you can cut yours to any size you like.  One was 1 3/4” x 3”, the middle one was 1 7/8 x 4 1/4” and the last one on the right measures 1 7/8” x 2 5/8.  I cut the patterned paper 1/4” smaller than the cardstock.  As I say, just go with your ‘eye’ and see what size you prefer, or what you think looks best.  I adhered the tags to the top of the strip, and then adhered more half circles of cardstock and patterned paper over the three ‘tailed tags’.

5)  Next, I added the photographs.  As you can see, the photograph on the left has been trimmed down, and then cut into three – I know some people are horror stricken to be asked to cut photographs, but I think it can give a really different effect to your layouts.  I trimmed down the second photograph and then adhered it to the right of the first photograph.  TIP:  I always ink the edges of my photographs with Early Espresso, as it eliminates those awful ‘white’ lines around the edges, particularly if you have trimmed your photos.

6)  To add some elements to the layout,  I stamped the atlas from The Open Sea using Island Indigo ink on white cardstock.  I punched it out, added the words ‘in the world’ and stuck it onto the long strip using dimensionals.   Lastly, I die-cut the word ‘my’ using Lucky Limeade cardstock, and added the remainder of the title.  The little letters I use can be bought – however, I have typed up two sizes of alphabets in Word, and print them onto cardstock.  I ink the edges before placing them where I want them.

Voila !

STEP-UP  - you could step this layout up, by using buttons, pearls, rhinestones etc., I wanted to keep this pretty plain, as I felt that the amazing patterned papers were enough in this instance, and show them off to their full potential.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and I would love to see any projects you make that use mine as your inspiration.  As always, I’d be grateful if you would give me credit if you ‘lift’ this project.

Have fun and don’t forget to come back for more ideas and inspiration.  I am still working on getting a video onto my blog, but its a nightmare !

Come back in the next few days for instructions on the following layouts ….
